We love this campground! While it does not offer the "amenities" other campgrounds might, like an on site pool, it is without question the cleanest campground we have ever visited! I never saw trash anywhere, despite the fact that the campground was filled to capacity. The bathrooms were very clean. We also love the Sunday morning worship service! We have camped here twice, and have had very positive experience each time. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, even as busy as they get in the office. The roller coaster noise is just part of the park's character, and is really only a problem on a few sites and only in the summer when DW closes later. There is plenty to do in the area. The sites are close together but that just give you the chance to meet new friends. We will no doubt return. (By the way, they do not at this time offer any discounted tickets to Dutch Wonderland.)
Overall nice... However, it is NOT Big Rig friendly!!! We were on the Chester loop (electric only)which is nice and shady but even the drives are difficult to negoitate in our 40' Super C - nearly hit a tree on a curve. The "pull thru" sites are small, as are most of the full hook up sites. I would recommend to fill water before leaving home to save time. The bathrooms in our loop were not clean. On a positive note, there is plenty to do in the nature center and lots of hiking trails. The beach was full of goose poo, but that is nothing that the park can really control. There are great playgrounds, especially one near the beach! Lots of space between sites.
Nice park with many activities for families - including swimming, fishing, boat ramp and docks and a two nice playgrounds. They also have activities planned in the pavilion including a movie night, games, etc. When we arrived on Mother's day weekend they had just received three inches of rain and we were warned that many site were quite wet. In fact some were under water (notably most dried by the morning). However, they were VERY accommodating and allowed us to switch sites - to a nice dry one! In addition, they allow free late check out in the spring and fall - if available (usually the case). Not really quiet, but tolerable. Only one negative - we saw many folks with open alcohol containers, although none were rude or obnoxious, it was a bit concerning that several parents at the play ground had open containers. There was excellent security with someone driving around more than once per hour on patrol. Again, despite the open containers no one was acting inappropriate. Overall it was a fun weekend despite the weather! I would not necessarily recommend a waterfront site, esp in the spring, due to the unpredictable weather.
